X-MAN™ Cell lines
Horizon Discovery’s offering is based upon the supply of a range of human isogenic cell lines that represent patient-relevant isogenic somatic models of human genetic diseases.
X-MAN (Mutant and Normal) cell lines are available that model many of common genotypes observed in human cancer, plus provide their perfectly matched normal genetic backgrounds as a reference. X-MAN cell lines separate the cancer-gene spectrum to aid the discovery of specifically targeted drugs that can be used singularly, or in combination.
Targeting single defects using the Discovery 1 X-MAN panel of cell lines is the first step into understanding how different patient populations respond to a drug; but it is becoming critical to check if other (secondary) mutations impart resistance. This is a key feature of the Discovery 2 X-MAN panel of cell lines (or double Knock-ins).
X-MAN Researcher lines are targeted to secondary, epigenetically regulated or modifier genes that are differentially expressed in cancer vs. normal cells.
X-MAN DNA Repair lines model DNA-repair enzymes and their regulatory protein networks and can be used to understand the role these important pathways have in cancer development and help find novel cancer therapeutics that exploit them.
